Did you know that an onsite CCTV-related Data
Protection Awareness training course is now available for users who would like
to develop staff awareness but for whom it would be inconvenient to take
personnel offsite?
The course duration is just two and a half hours and is suitable for CCTV
Managers and Operators, Estates Managers, nominated Data Processors, Site
Supervisors and Heads of Security wanting a refresher.
It includes the Eight DPA principles and their practical consequences for
CCTV operations (statutory obligations, constraints on camera use and the
retention and disclosure of images) together with practical advice on ICO
registration, constructing an effective CCTV Policy Document and the importance
of documented Operational Procedures and maintenance of Management
Records.
The course is especially useful for anyone involved in use of a scheme which
includes an element of Public Space coverage, and the benefits to all delegates
and their organisations include improved confidence in the use of their system,
better informed day-to-day decisions and a reduced risk of accusations of
non-compliance being levelled against themselves or their organisations.
